This past weekend we made a trip back to Hospers for Mike Bosma's wedding. First off, the people who were shocked that Brad was getting married must be doubly shocked that Mike actually found a girl to marry him! In all honesty, Jen is a wonderful gal and they really are a great couple. Plus, she is an amazing hair dresser (bonus for me!).
We actually were able to leave Thursday afternoon right after Sophia's first visit to the dentist. Dr Wade says her teeth are perfect and her jaw and gums are looking great so she hopefully won't have any problems. She got some cool new toys, or I mean toothbrushes, and we go back again in six months.
Sophia slept the whole way back (about four hours) which was wonderful, but she made up for it by not wanting to sleep that night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Unfortunately, her whole schedule took a dive over the weekend so we had to do a little refresher course on sleep training tonight, which was miserable for all of us, but now she's sleeping soundly in her bed. Fingers crossed that she stays there tonight.
There was rumor that Northwest Iowa was going to be getting a big ice storm on Saturday night/Sunday morning so we actually left for home at about 9:30 that night and poor Brad drove all the way home. Thankfully we didn't run into any bad weather and made it home in pretty good time. We then spent yesterday trying to recover from the weekend. It was a really good visit and I'm excited to get to see the family again over Christmas, which we are hosting this year.
Well, better go jump in the shower and get to bed.....I am still trying to catch up on my lost sleep from the weekend!
