Cast

I fully expected Collin to be the first in our household to get a cast, but Sophia beat him to the punch!  On Saturday evening we were enjoying our first fire of the year and Sophia tripped over a chair and fell on her hand.  She complained right away that her pinky hurt, but stopped crying quickly and went on playing.  She continued to complain off and on Sunday and Monday so Tuesday morning I took her in to the pediatrician to be seen.  After xrays the radiologist thought he saw a small break and wanted us seen by orthopedics.  We were lucky enough to snag an appointment later than afternoon and sure enough, she confirmed a break through one of the growth plates on her pinky (right by the biggest knuckle, connecting the finger to the hand).  Sophia was a bit nervous about the casting process, but did great and the tech said she was his best patient of the day so she even got GLITTER in her cast!  We go back in three weeks with the hopes that it will be all healed up and good as new to start summer vacation.
