Lakeview Urgent Care

I must now take a moment to give a "shout-out" to the Lakeview Urgent Care clinic. Little miss Sophia has been running a temp of 101 pretty much all day today (probably due to immunizations yesterday) but she has also been increasingly congested as the day went on. After a real struggle listening to her breath (gunky nose and almost wheezing when she tried to use her mouth) we called My Nurse and they suggested we take her in to an urgent care clinic. Since Lakeview is closest we headed that way expecting to have at least a little wait. Not even! We walked in, got checked in, saw the doctor, checked out, and were back on the road home within 20 minutes max. Total time away from home~~Approximately 35 minutes!! Pretty darn good, I think.

The doctor, who was absolutely great, gave her a good once over, including listening to those litle lungs, and feels its just a summer cold. He did tell us if it was his 4 month old he would have brought her in too, though, so that made us feel like we weren't over-reacting quite as badly as we thought :-) He said to expect the fever to last about another 24 hours due to immunizations and for the cold to slowly get better over the next 4-5 days, but to call back/see the doc again if they got worse or lasted longer.

So, that was our adventurous Tuesday night. I did manage to make a really good batch of lasagna with veggies before we decided to call the nurse, though!

Thanks for listening!
