Financial Peace

Our church is offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and after reading Total Money Makeover we decided this would be the next logical step. We actually have been debating back and forth for a couple months because a) we wanted to make sure we would get enough more out of the class than the book to justify spending the money and b) we were worried about Sophia being in childcare for two hours each week. Unfortunately, Sophia is not a fan of our church nursery attendant. After confirming that it would be someone else in charge we talked it over and decided to go for it. If all else failed we would have my mom or a friend come watch her each week. So last night was our first class. We talked up playing downstairs to Sophia all day and she was actually excited to go! At intermission about one hour in I peeked in downstairs to check on her. One of the caregivers told me she was busy playing hide and seek and was actually trying to show him (an adult) how to play! I went back up to finish class with a newfound confidence and pride in our little girl. When class was over and we went down to get her she told us we had to wait because she wasn't ready to leave yet!! Needless to say, it was a success. We liked class and she had a blast. In fact, she is already asking to go back today!
