Summer Days

Yesterday was one of those quintessential summer days that we all look forward to. Great temperature, slight breeze, and lots of sun. Sophia and I got outdoors bright and early and spent the vast majority of the day outside. She enjoyed coloring with her chalk, splashing in a bucket, and swinging in the morning and then after a good lunch and nap we went back outside for some swim time. She just loves the little pool we got her last year and spent nearly three hours getting in and out of it! Lucky for me, that meant she was fully happy being on her own so I sat under the patio umbrella and enjoyed a good book while keeping half an eye on her. I am so lucky that she is content to entertain herself and doesn't try to run out of the unfenced yard. We even went back out after dinner to try to enjoy some more outside time, but unfortunately the bugs were out in full force already. Brad headed out to Menards this morning to get some bug spray for the yard so hopefully we will have better luck tonight!
