Some families do it out of practicality (its a lot easier to get things done when you've got both hands), some families do it out of necessity when they have a fussy baby, some do it simply for the joy of having baby close all the time, and some do it for a variety of reasons. For our family, its the final option. I love to "wear" my kids and sometimes its a necessity as I have to get things done and Collin won't let me put him down. Sophia still has fond memories of being worn and asks every time the carriers come out if she can have a turn too. My collection is ever growing and includes an original Moby (purple), a bamboo Moby (cream), a homemade non-stretchy faux-by (black and white), and a hand-me-down carrier that I only reserve for super short trips as it hurts my shoulders. My newest addition is a black and white Mei Tai carrier, with an onbuhimo soon to come! Seriously, these things are addicting!!!
