Grandma week

Two weeks ago Brad was gone for a week of training in California so my mom came down to lend me a hand with the kids and help save my sanity.  We kept very buys, including a day trip up to Ames to eat at Hickory Park, visit Reiman Gardens, and go berry picking at Berry Patch Farm between Ames and Nevada.  I had never been to the gardens and it was a great experience.  The flowers were beautiful, Sophia loved all the Lego sculptures, and any time spent casually walking and talking with mom is fabulous.  They even have a big butterfly room with tons of different species.

Quick nursing break in a beautiful, quiet corner

They even had a Hawkeye bird feeder in "Cyclone Country"

Sophia could have hung out with the giant gnome all day!

The fresh berries were amazing and Collin and I both enjoyed "taste testing" almost as many as Sophia picked!  We were able to snag some of the last strawberries and a pound and a half of blueberries.  Its a bit out of the way, but we will definitely be going back!
