Time Flies (and so do the miles)

This past week I took a great adventure down to Harlingen, Texas, to pick up my parents and drive them back home to Iowa. The trip down went very well and reminded me just how much I love flying. I got to spend roughly 15 hours enjoying the beautiful weather, including a nice run around the park, and then it was on the road again to head home. I'm told the trip is roughly 1300 miles and we made it in two days....not too bad! Brad even had supper in the oven ready to go for us when we pulled in the driveway. It was definitely hard to be away from Sophia for three days, but well worth it to give myself and my siblings peace of mind.

Sophia has continued to learn and suprise us each and every day. She is now able to count with us up to 10 and knows a good number of colors and shapes, although she does tend to pick a color and stick with it even if she knows its not right--Stinker! She is now talking in two and three word sentances and picks up on more every time we turn around. We are officially gearing up for her second birthday party as well, with invitations going out last week and me scouring the internet for the perfect gift for her.

Today we got a taste of spring and were able to go outside and play for a good while after nap. Sophia decided the puddles were just too tempting so we changed into her snow boots and she stomped and splashed through every puddle within a block radius, giggling the whole time! It was too cute to see her out there in her piggy tails, pink heart dress, tights, and black snow boots. Too bad I didn't take the time to grab the camera, that would have been a priceless picture!
