On Monday we went in for Collin's 12 month well visit. Dr Beebe is extremely happy with his growth and really excited that it was a natural growth spurt, not forced. Going to the nutritionist was helpful, but really she didn't tell us anything we didn't already know and only gave us a couple suggestions that we weren't already trying. In the end, he was just at the valley before a growth spurt. He's still small, holding steady in the first percentile, but he is back on his growth curve, which is great.
Dr B is happy with his development and has no concerns other than just continuing to watch the dairy issues. Our plan is to attempt giving him straight dairy sometime in the next couple months and see how he reacts. At that point we will discuss going on to see an allergist or just continuing to avoid dairy depending on his reaction.
We did discover that he had the start of an ear infection at Monday's appointment so we have been treating him with antibiotics. He is pretty well back to normal again, which is a relief because none of us were getting much sleep with him sick!
STATS:
Height 26 inches, although I am sure the nurse said 26 1/4 (1%)
Weight 16.5 pounds (1%)
Head circumference 18 3/4 inches (85%) Its the Oldenkamp bump in the back :-)
