On Saturday we woke up to a beautiful, warm, sunny day so we decided to make the most of it and head out to the Saylorville spillway to let Sophia get an up-close look. On the way out we drove past Camp Dodge and Sophia just had to stop and see the jet and the tanks, which was another first for her. She absolutely loved crawling all over the tanks with her Daddy and has already asked twice to go back. Best part-----its free!! So we will definitely be heading back out there.
After our stop at the tanks we headed out for Saylorville. While wandering around my mom and I were discussing how neither of us had actually been out of the car and up close either. It was such an awesome sight. The power of that water coming out of the lake is crazy and Sophia loved when the water would splash up over the side and spray her and Brad. It was a beautiful morning to be outside and we enjoyed every minute of it.
